Why the smell keeps coming back
Odor lives in what you can't see: the foam under the seat fabric, the carpet pad, the vents and the cabin filter.
- Find the source — seats, carpet pad, vents, headliner, cabin filter
- Remove it — hot water extraction with enzyme cleaners, steam on hard surfaces
- Treat the HVAC system and replace the cabin air filter
- Finish with ozone to break down what's left in the air and fabric
- Air the car out before we hand it back
- Air fresheners and sprays — perfume on top of the smell
- Ozone alone over a dirty interior — the smell returns
- Leaving the windows open for a week
- Baking soda on a soaked seat

How odor removal works
Odor removal FAQ
Yes, as a final step. Ozone breaks down odor molecules in the air, fabric and vents that cleaning can’t reach. On its own, over an uncleaned interior, it only covers the smell for a while — which is why our package cleans the source first.
Ozone is harmful to breathe at treatment levels, so nobody is in the car while it runs. Afterwards we air the car out until it’s back to normal before we hand it back. Short, controlled treatments don’t damage interior materials.
In most cars, yes. Heavy long-term smoking leaves tar in the headliner and the HVAC system; those cars may need a second ozone session a week later. We’ll tell you after the first one.
Yes, if we reach it. Milk soaks into the carpet pad and seat foam and sours fast in the heat. We extract it with hot water and an enzyme cleaner. The sooner, the better.
Yes, in the Odor Elimination package — a dirty filter will put the smell straight back in. If you’d rather supply the filter, tell us when you book.
The full package takes 4–6 hours including treatment and airing out. The ozone add-on adds about an hour to an interior detail.
